Hello Miner families and friends!
Winter Break and the holidays are now behind us! As you do some organizing to make room for all the new toys and goodies, you may be considering getting rid of some of your older toys, games, books, clothes, and household items. If so, please consider donating to the PTO in support of our Second Annual Community Yard Sale! Because our inaugural event was so successful last spring, we have already begun planning the follow-on event to be held in Spring 2017 (probably in April).
All proceeds from the sale will go to the PTO general fund for use supporting Miner teacher and student activities. Since the PTO is a 501c3 organization, you can write off the value of any donated goods from your income tax returns if you itemize.
And as we’re all well aware, DC homes, condos, and apartments don’t provide a lot of storage space. So the PTO has made arrangements with Miner’s administration to provide storage space inside the school for donations until the sale occurs. Donations can be dropped off in the Orchestra Room (Room 200) by the elevator on the second floor.
