The Miner Mutual Aid Network will host next Community Table on Saturday, March 6 from 11am–1pm in the Miner parking lot.  We will once again feature free food boxes, winter clothing, and PPE for any member of the community in need.  

This event is open to the entire Miner community and we encourage everyone to come out and support one another. Masks and social distancing will be required. 

Donations: We are seeking donations of non-perishable food (canned fruit and vegetables, grains, etc), winter clothing, and diapers/baby items. If you would like to contribute, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Support Miner Mutual Aid: We Are Stronger Together
We are so excited to share that this March marks EIGHT MONTHS of supporting our community through mutual aid. We have been busy in the past half-year, and it's all thanks to the generous support of people like you.

We are also growing! Our February Community Table provided food, PPE, and other necessities to over 100 community members. We hope to continue offering support at this level, but we need your help.

Our goal is to create connections, one person at a time, to form a network of solidarity. To achieve this goal, WE NEED YOU! We’re looking for a dedicated corps of volunteers who can commit to one or more of the following:

• Assisting with food donations
• Planning/staffing events
• Providing ongoing financial support

The Miner Mutual Aid Network celebrated another successful Community Table on Saturday, January 30. Thanks to the support of the Miner community, Serve Your City/The Ward 6 Mutual Aid Network, Christ City Church, and the Miner Administration, the event provided: 

• Non-perishable food boxes
• PPE
• Children’s books and toys
• Winter clothes
• Free lunch courtesy of our new friends at The Big Cheese Food Truck (show them some love at @BigCheeseTruck)

The Mutual Aid team wishes to thank everyone who contributed to the event, especially our outstanding volunteers.These monthly events have provided critical support to our community and we look forward to continuing to build a thriving mutual aid network for Miner and the surrounding neighborhood over the next year. 

Miner Mutual Aid will soon launch a fundraising to support six more months of support. More information is coming soon, please consider donation so we can continue this important work.

"This is the Way" is a short film created by our Miner students with our partnership with Arena Stage, a partnership made possible by Miner's Community School program.

This film was created to display who they are as people, the things they care about, and the Miner Community! This short film was made by a group of our 3rd-5th grade students who met virtually every Wednesday from October to December. During this time, they participated in various activities and exercises to activate their creative lenses. All the words and ideas in this film were written by the students.

We are very proud to share their project with all of you! We hope you enjoy!

​Dear Miner community:

As school opens up for in-person learning, the Miner PTO is committed to doing what we can to support the teachers and staff coming back to the school. The reopening plan includes provision of personal protective equipment (PPE), but a survey of returning staff indicated that many did not feel the surgical masks provided would fully protect them from possible infection in the case of exposure to someone infected with COVID-19.​

The Miner PTO is thus raising funds to purchase N95 and KN95 masks for returning staff who have indicated they would feel safer with a higher level of protection. We have established a special fund in our regular donation system for purchasing these masks. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today to make sure everyone feels safe coming back to in-person learning.
