We know that Halloween will be a little bit different this year, so the Miner PTO is planning a safe and socially distant outdoor event for all your little ghouls, goblins, super heroes, and princesses!
Please join us for a Garden Spooktacular on Halloween! From 3-5pm on Saturday, October 31 we will have scavenger hunts and pumpkin decorating in our garden. Please be sure to wear your costume and of course a face mask. Social distancing rules will be in place. We hope to see you there! Please see the attached flyer for more details and contact us at [email protected] with any questions you may have. Please note we will have NO ACCESS to the building for any reason. The entire event will be outdoors. The Miner Mutual Aid Network will hold its monthly Community Table at Miner on October 24 from 10am-1pm. This Community Table will feature FREE flu shots administered by CVS Pharmacy.
To process flu shots for all who need them, please RSVP and select your time using this link. Please note, CVS can administer one flu shot every five minutes. When you select your block of time, indicate how many members of your household you would like to receive a shot. There is no cost to getting a flu shot. If you have insurance, please bring your insurance card. If you do not have insurance, the cost will be covered by the Miner PTO. We will also once again partner with Serve Your City and Ward 6 Mutual Aid to provide non-perishable food boxes, masks and other PPE, household items, and children’s books and toys. This event is open to the entire Miner community and we encourage everyone to come out and support each other. Masks and social distancing will be required. Volunteers: If you are interested in volunteering to support the event, please click here. Donations: We are looking for donations of children’s books, diapers, and non-perishable food to support the event. To coordinate a donation drop off please email [email protected]. Remember, if you received an EBT card these can be used to buy groceries to be donated. Below is a list of non-perishable food we are seeking:
Miner's Green Team and the garden program are pleased to present Miner's October garden newsletter.
All families are welcome to stop by the Peace Garden anytime they're at Miner when the building and playground is open. |
