Mutual Aid Community Table April 3rd
The Miner Mutual Aid Network will host our next Community Table event on Saturday, April 3 from 11AM-1PM in the Miner parking lot. We will once again feature free food boxes, PPE, and other necessities for any member of the community in need.
This event is open to the entire Miner community and we encourage everyone to come out and support one another. Masks and social distancing will be required.
For this event, we are focusing on household items and cleaning supplies (this includes things like sponges, soap, detergent, disinfecting spray and sanitizing wipes). We have had lots of requests for these items and hoping that once again our community can come through with donations. If you have non-perishable food, lightly used children's books/toys, or diapers you can still donate these items as well. If you would like to donate, please reach out to MinerMutualAid@gmail.com. You can also drop donations off at Miner between 12-1 on Friday, April 2.
We need volunteers to assist with set-up, distribution, and clean-up. To register as a volunteer, please click here.
To make a financial donation to support our ongoing work, please head to the PTO's donation page.
Support Miner Mutual Aid: We Are Stronger Together
The Miner Mutual Aid team is committed to continuing to serve for the foreseeable future. To do this will require additional financial support. If you are interested in making a contribution please consider making a donation here. We ask that you include a note with your donation indicating you intend it to support Mutual Aid.
Our goal is to create connections, one person at a time, to form a network of solidarity. To achieve this goal, WE NEED YOU! We’re looking for a dedicated corps of volunteers who can commit to one or more of the following:
The Miner Mutual Aid Team
Dear Miner Community,
Through a generous partnership with the Capital Candy Jar, we will have a sweet fundraising event March 27 & 28. Customers who mention Miner Elementary those two days will receive a 5% discount, and 25% of those sales will benefit the Miner PTO! So it’s a great opportunity to stock up on Easter basket candy and other spring treats while supporting a local business and our school all at once!
The PTO will arrange playdates from 2-4 p.m. each day during the event, at which you can meet PTO representatives in person (outdoors and with face masks) to talk about the school and opportunities to support it. It’s also a great time before our elections this spring to meet the current leadership team, sign up for committees, or ask questions about running for leadership positions.
Also new this year is that online sales will receive the same discount! So please encourage your friends and family on those two days to visit the store’s website: https://capitalcandyjar.com/, and use the promo code MINER to get a deal for them and build support for our school. (Note that it cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts, including free shipping.)
Thank you for your continued support of our Miner community! We hope to see you at the Capital Candy Jar, 201 15th Street NE, on March 27 & 28 (store hours those days are noon to 8 pm).
