Next Community Table Event: Saturday, April 3 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The Miner Mutual Aid Network will host our next Community Table event on Saturday, April 3 from 11AM-1PM in the Miner parking lot.  We will once again feature free food boxes, PPE, and other necessities for any member of the community in need.

This event is open to the entire Miner community and we encourage everyone to come out and support one another. Masks and social distancing will be required.

Donations
For this event, we are focusing on household items and cleaning supplies (this includes things like sponges, soap, detergent, disinfecting spray and sanitizing wipes). We have had lots of requests for these items and hoping that once again our community can come through with donations. If you have non-perishable food, lightly used children's books/toys, or diapers you can still donate these items as well. If you would like to donate, please reach out to MinerMutualAid@gmail.com. You can also drop donations off at Miner between 12-1 on Friday, April 2.

Volunteers
We need volunteers to assist with set-up, distribution, and clean-up. To register as a volunteer, please click here.

Financial Donations
To make a financial donation to support our ongoing work, please head to the PTO's donation page.
Support Miner Mutual Aid: We Are Stronger Together
The Miner Mutual Aid team is committed to continuing to serve for the foreseeable future. To do this will require additional financial support. If you are interested in making a contribution please consider making a donation here. We ask that you include a note with your donation indicating you intend it to support Mutual Aid.

Our goal is to create connections, one person at a time, to form a network of solidarity. To achieve this goal, WE NEED YOU! We’re looking for a dedicated corps of volunteers who can commit to one or more of the following:
  • assisting with food donations,
  • planning/staffing events, and
  • providing ongoing financial support.
If you love Miner, if you've been looking for a way to give back to your community, if you want to get to know your neighbors, the Miner Mutual Aid Team is looking for you! Please reach out to us at  MinerMutualAid@gmail.com to learn how you can support this work.

In solidarity,

The Miner Mutual Aid Team

What is Mutual Aid?

In systems of mutual aid, communities take on the responsibility of caring for one another. Mutual aid is not charity - mutual aid is solidarity. Mutual Aid is about solving immediate problems together, with a grassroots, community-led approach.

How Can I Help?

Financial and in-kind donations to support Miner Mutual Aid can be made through the Miner PTO via the Donation page.

Mutual Aid goes beyond financial support. We ask every member of our community to challenge themselves to consider other ways they can be of service. This may include:
  • Groceries, toiletries, medicine, cleaning supplies or other essentials
  • Administrative help: legal support, social services, applying for unemployment benefits
  • Transportation for individuals, or to pick up groceries and other supplies
  • Childcare
  • Tech Support for distance learning
  • Checking in via phone calls, video chats, texting

How Can I Receive Help?

Requests for support can be made by filling out an online Google form.

Alternatively, you can also reach out to any Miner teacher, the community school coordinator, social workers, or the individuals below.

To contact any of the individuals below, just fill out the information in the form for that person. These requests go privately and directly to that person, and can be made anonymously. They will coordinate support in a process that respects your individual needs.
