Uniforms & Supplies

Uniforms

Miner is a uniform school and we expect all of our scholars in proper uniform each day. If a student is dropped off without appropriate uniform clothes, Miner will require the student to contact their parents to bring them a proper uniform.

Our school uniform is as follows:
  • Dark blue bottoms (pants, skirts, jumpers, or shorts)-
  • White, light blue, or navy-blue polos (everyone)
  • Navy-blue polos (suggested for ECE)
  • Any Miner school gear
  • Shoes must have heel straps; no flip flops are permitted.
  • Note that blue jeans are not a part of the school uniform

We do ask that students in Pre-K and K bring an extra set of clothes.

School spirit apparel may be purchased from the PTO or the Spirit Store.  For uniforms assistance, reach out to the school social workers, Ms. Woodard and Ms. Kraemer.

Uniform Donation

Miner accepts donations of gently used uniform clothing for distribution to families in need.  Items should be clean and in good condition (no stains or tears).  Items accepted include shirts, pants, shoes, skirts, jumpers and sweaters. All collected items are provided to the school social workers to distribute to families in need.

School Supplies

As a community school, Miner provides all necessary classroom supplies for our students to have a successful school year.

Grades K-5: Students are requested to have a back pack for books, homework, and so the school can send home a daily or weekly communication folder. If you are in need of a backpack, please see your child's teacher or a school social worker.

Pre-Kindergarten: Students are requested to have a back pack so the school can send home a daily or weekly communication folder, a nap roll or blanket for rest time, and a change of clothing (accidents happen).  Those are the only required items. If you want to donate to the teacher, you are welcome to give them items such as tissues and hand sanitizer.  All other supplies are provided by DCPS and the school. If you are in need of a backpack, blanket, or change of clothes, please see your child's teacher or a school social worker.
