You may have seen the recent article in the Washington Post about elevated levels of lead in some DC schools, including at Miner Elementary.
Ms. Torrence briefed on this issue at the April 12 PTO meeting.
Because our test results were only slightly over the limit, in a room that we understood to be infrequently used, and we were able to verify that the filters were replaced, we did not see the need to take further action. In hindsight, however, we should have asked that a letter be sent home to families at that time.
Today, AP Torrence issued a more detailed letter.
